The Confidence Start

Terms and Conditions

These terms explain how the Confidence Start works and what you agree to when you book it. Please read them alongside the enrolment agreement you sign on Day 1. By booking a Confidence Start, you agree to these terms.

1. Who these terms are with

The Confidence Start is offered by Giggle & Learn trading as Giggle & Learn, the Approved Provider of our early learning centres.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Giggle & Learn. "You" means the parent or guardian who books the Confidence Start. "Your centre" means the Giggle & Learn centre you are enrolling your child at.

2. What the Confidence Start is

The Confidence Start is four weeks for your child to settle in at your centre with a dedicated educator. We call you after every session. We may also share a written update and photos, and you can follow your child's day through the OWNA app.

It is part of how we welcome and settle every new child into care. It is not a trial period or a promotion.

3. How the four weeks work

Here is how the four weeks usually run. We adjust to your child's pace.

  • Day 1, parent and child visit (about one to two hours). You stay the whole time. Your child meets their dedicated educator. You sign an enrolment agreement so your child is covered for educator-to-child ratios and insurance. No fees begin.

  • Weeks 1 and 2, half-day sessions. Shorter days so your child can settle gently.

  • Weeks 3 and 4, full-day sessions. Longer days as your child grows comfortable. Hours adjust to suit your child.
\
  • End of Week 4, a conversation with your centre. We talk through how your child has settled and the enrolment schedule that works best for your family.

4. Who can book

The Confidence Start is for families enrolling a child at your centre for the first time. To book:

  • Your child is within the age groups your centre is licensed to care for (generally 8 weeks to 6 years).

  • A place is available in your child's age group.

  • You complete the Day 1 enrolment agreement and give us the details we need to care for your child safely, such as health and immunisation information.

  • One Confidence Start applies per child.

5. What you pay during the four weeks

There is nothing to pay during the four-week Confidence Start. No fees, no deposit, no holding fee.

Your child is enrolled with us from Day 1 so they are covered for ratios and insurance under our duty of care. This enrolment is for that cover only. It does not start your fees.

Fees begin once enrolment is confirmed at the end of the four weeks.

6. If you choose not to continue

You can stop the Confidence Start at any time during the four weeks. There is nothing to pay and no obligation to enrol.

If you decide not to enrol at the end of the four weeks, there is nothing more to pay. Your place may then be offered to the next family waiting.

7. If we end it early

The Confidence Start works both ways. We may end it early if we believe we are not the right fit for your child, or where we need to for a child's safety, wellbeing or our duty of care. We will talk with you first whenever we can. If this happens, there is nothing to pay.

8. After you enrol

If you confirm enrolment, your ongoing care, fees, Child Care Subsidy and notice periods are set out in the enrolment agreement you sign. From that point, the enrolment agreement applies, not this page.

The Child Care Subsidy applies to your fees once enrolment and fees begin, based on your eligibility and the government's rules. It does not apply during the four weeks, because there are no fees to subsidise.

9. Photos, updates and privacy

During the four weeks we call you after every session. We may also share photos and a written update with you as your child's parent or guardian, both directly and through the OWNA app.

We handle your personal information under our Privacy Policy. Any use of your child's photos beyond your own updates is covered by the consent you give in the enrolment paperwork.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you book is the version that applies to you.

11. Questions and governing law

If you have any questions about these terms and conditions, or about the Confidence Start, call your local centre. You will find each centre's phone number on our website.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
